You'll be able to make changes before you submit your review. Too dry. Some potentially good parts were told, not shown. Needed more time for relationship development.
Three hundred years ago, two Scottish clans feuded and fought. Three MacKinnon brothers were supposed to marry three Claren sisters to bring about peace. None of the marriages happened, and a curse was placed on the three brothers. In , Lachlan Claren died and left property to three women who were Claren descendants. They are cousins who didn't know each other until Lachlan's solicitor contacted them. When they travel to claim their inheritances, they each meet one of the three MacKinnon brothers.
Maggie meets Duncan who died years ago and is now a ghost but he is given a human body for one month each year. Cailean meets Rory, who is human but immortal, still in a year-old body. Delaney meets Alex, who was sent through a time portal and now lives in the year They join efforts to find a way to break the curse.
More than once I was annoyed when the author mentioned something interesting but gave no details. For example on page ""did you know that there is an aboriginal tribe in New Guinea that believes that. His groan was very satisfactory. He grinned and said "did you know that in fourteenth century Russia, there was a band of Mongols who thought it was very pleasurable to.
This is a book, not TV, there is no need to censor. Another detail not being shown was on page Her account was also not to be missed. This was telling, not showing. The characters had potential but not enough time was spent on them. Each couple fell in lust within two days of meeting. I wanted more character and relationship development.
Maybe this book should have been two stories instead of three. The ending was a let down. I was expecting something more interesting. It was a happy ending but not creative. The curse wasn't explained well and didn't make sense. I had to stretch to understand a curse on one or two of the brothers - but not all three.
